Job Title: Finance Assistant

Job Summary
The role supports the finance team with day‑to‑day accounting, reporting, and administrative tasks. It involves processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, assisting with month‑end activities, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. Working closely with accountants, managers, and other departments to provide timely and accurate financial information that supports business decision‑making.
Core Responsibilities
Work closely and build relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders to collate and verify data.
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including Fixed asset, balance sheet, and cost centre reporting, and the preparation of accounts analysis.
Preparation of weekly sales reporting, and daily upload of billing information.
Assist the Financial controller in the year end audit process.
Provide cover for the processing of Purchase Ledger transactions including processing of invoices, payment of suppliers, supplier reconciliations and resolution of queries.
Maintaining and updating the supplier and customer database.
Assisting the Finance team to provide excellent service, ensuring processes are adhered to and business needs and internal SLA’s are met.
To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business.
Key Performance Indictors
The following KPIs will apply to you; this list is not exhaustive and may change as the business develops:
Delivery of accurate data within agreed timescales.
Provide regular reporting to management, highlighting any key successes and issues and provide solutions to mitigate those risks.
Positive feedback from key stakeholders.
You will have regular one-to-one meetings with your line manager to review your performance against these objectives and identify any areas for development and/or required support.
Person Specification
Essential
Studying towards a Finance degree.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel and word.
Good analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
Good communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
Highly organised and able to work under pressure to strict deadlines.
Ability to act on own initiative - exercising personal and professional judgement to involve others as appropriate.
Team Player working together to achieve business and team goals, with a willingness to get involved and have a hands-on approach.
Robust - able to deal with changing circumstances and challenging situations whilst still achieving objectives.

Working Hours
The office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm; the nature of the service we provide to the business may require flexibly working outside of these times.
